Celebrating Thanksgiving Together 🍂

Last week, all the Salesian religious communities of Southern California gathered to celebrate Thanksgiving in the Salesian house of Boyle Heights, located within the campus of Salesian High School Bishop Mora.

It was a beautiful moment to share, enjoy, and strengthen our fraternal bonds while reflecting on the true spirit of gratitude. Together, we gave thanks for the blessings that unite us in our mission of service and community.

Moments like these remind us that we are a family rooted in faith, love, and shared purpose.

Happy Thanksgiving from our Salesian family to yours! 🦃🍁

Youth Night in Boyle Heights

Every month, the Salesian community in Los Angeles gathers for a Youth Night at one of our Salesian works. We’ve already hosted nights at St. Mary’s Parish, the Salesian Family Youth Center, and, this past Friday, at St. Isabel Parish!

This month’s theme was Friendsgiving, and we were blessed to have nearly 50 young people join us for a night filled with joy, community, and surprises!

🎉 Special Guests:
• We were honored to welcome Father Mel Trinidad, Provincial of the Salesians of the Western Province, who shared about his role, challenges, and life dedicated to the youth. The Q&A session with him was incredible—our young people asked some truly insightful questions!
• The Salesian Cooperators from St. Dominic Savio Parish joined us to share about their Salesian vocation and treated everyone to pizza, led by Armando!
• Youth leaders from St. Dominic Savio also came to spend time with us, adding to the festive and family-like atmosphere.

🙏 Special Thanks To:
• Brother Michael, Joseph (Salesian Prenovice), Alejandro, and Peter (Salesian Volunteers) for always being present and ready to support the youth with their energy and dedication.
• The CYM of Salesian High School Bishop Mora and Ms. De la Rosa, who joined us along with some youth leaders from their school, adding to the spirit of collaboration and family.
• Juan Carlos for bringing the youth from Savio.
• Father Mel Trinidad for inspiring and engaging with us.
• The Salesian Cooperators for their generosity and presence.
• Ana and Luis, confirmation teachers from St. Mary’s Parish, for joining us.
• The parents of our youth, who kindly shared sodas and water to keep everyone refreshed.
• And most importantly, to all the young people who made this night unforgettable!

Stay tuned for our next Youth Night—let’s continue growing together as one Salesian family! 💙✨

Girl Scout Investiture and Rededication Ceremony

We were blessed to welcome **14 new Girl Scouts** to our troop and to see **5 returning members** continue their journey with us. 🥳💕 It was heartwarming to have **over 70 friends and family** join in the celebration, along with some special guests from our sister troop in Bellflower. 🌟

A huge thank-you to **Cinthia, our council representative**, for her visit and continued support, and to **Deacon Joe**, who blessed our meal and made the day even more meaningful. 🙏

The girls recited the Girl Scout Promise, received their initial pins, certificates, and badges, sang the “Make New Friends” song, and shared the SWAPS they made with love. 💖 Following the ceremony, we enjoyed a “Friendsgiving” potluck feast that brought us all closer together. 🍴🍂

This day was a beautiful reminder of the power of friendship, community, and the amazing spirit of Girl Scouts! 🌻

Here’s to another year of learning, growing, and making the world a better place! 🌏
