(Los Angeles, California) – New developments are evident in the Salesian parishes and youth center in Boyle Heights, as St. Mary and St. Isabel young people journey toward their celebration of Confirmation, young people attend a Dodger Game, and the Salesian Family Youth Center makes preparations for a Youth Leadership Conference this weekend.
St. Isabel and St. Mary’s Confirmation Retreat
This past weekend, second-year confirmation youth from St. Mary and St. Isabel parishes lived their retreat at the St. Joseph Salesian Retreat Center! It was a deep time of reflection, prayer and preparation to receive the sacrament of confirmation.
We want to sincerely thank Sister Maricarmen, Sister Stella, Ana and Luis Valle for all their dedication in organizing this beautiful experience. A very special thank you to Alejandro and Peter, Salesian volunteers, for accompanying our youth during the retreat. Also to Fr. Steve Way, for his presence and support throughout the weekend, and Fr. Marco Caesar, for being available for confessions and for celebrating the closing mass.
Finally, a huge shoutout to our youth leaders – their dedication, energy and faith made this retreat possible.
Let’s continue to accompany these young people in our prayers as they are about to take a very important step in their faith journey.

A Dodger Game for St Mary and St. Isabel’s Youth

An unforgettable night at Dodger Stadium!
For many of our Santa Maria youth and some Santa Isabel youth, it was their first time at a ballpark watching a Dodgers game. The excitement, lights, screams and joy… It was a unique experience that we will live for a long time!
A heartfelt thank you to the Salesian Family Youth Center for the donation of tickets, which made this very special ride possible.
This outing was also a gesture of appreciation for the young people who are participating with commitment and enthusiasm in the rehearsals of the Holy Cross that we will present on Good Friday in Santa Maria. Thank you for your dedication and being a part of this beautiful mission!
