Don Bosco Mission Center: Spreading Mercy One Burrito at a Time

By Fr. Peter Duoc Le, SDB

(April 26, 2025 – Los Angeles, CA)–Rain couldn’t dampen the spirit of service this past weekend as the Works of Mercy Team from the Don Bosco Mission Center carried out its 4th monthly homeless food outreach.  Over 200 hot burritos were lovingly cooked, wrapped, and distributed to unhoused individuals across Los Angeles.

Young people from ADMA Youth of St. Dominic Savio Church also joined in at the Don Bosco Mission Center to volunteer their time and burrito-wrapping skills to prepare the warm meals for our brothers and sisters in need.

Once prepared, the distribution team hit the streets to deliver these meals directly to those experiencing homelessness. Each burrito was a small, but meaningful offering—wrapped with love, hope, and prayer—intended to bring comfort and a reminder that they are not forgotten.

A prayer for outreach to the poor: “God of Mercy, watch over, protect, and provide for Your children living in difficult conditions. Use each one of us as Your instruments of peace, love, and mercy to help ease their pain and suffering. Amen.”

We are deeply grateful to all who participated and supported this effort. As we continue our monthly outreach, may we grow even more committed to being channels of Divine Mercy in our communities.
