South Mexico Salesian Family Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Guadalupe

(ANS – Mexico City, Mexico) – May 2025 – The annual Pilgrimage of the South Mexico Salesian Family to the National Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe was held in Mexico City on May 5, 2025. The event was led by the superiors of the Salesian Provinces named after Our Lady of Guadalupe – the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of Mexico-South (MME) Province and the Salesians of Don Bosco Mexico-México Province (MEM) – Sr. Margarita Chavarría Primavera and Fr. Juan Aarón Cerezo Huerta, respectively, who were accompanied by members of their Provincial Councils.

The event was attended by an estimated 10,000 faithful from the Salesian Family of South Mexico, gathered under the theme of the Salesian Strenna for the Jubilee Year 2025, focused on being Missionaries of Hope. They entered the Basilica in procession through the Holy Door. Fr. Cerezo Huerta then presided at the Eucharist, during which the new MEM Provincial Delegate for Youth Ministry and the Salesian Family, Fr. Jorge Ruiz Ochoa, and the Delegate for Vocations Promotion, Fr. Hugo Herrera Rosales, were presented.
