Our Province High School Graduations Begin

By Judy Alvarez

(Los Angeles, California) – This weekend three of our province schools will celebrate the graduation of the Class of 2025: St. Francis High School Salesian College Preparatory on Saturday, May 24, and Bishop Mora Salesian High School and St. John Bosco High School, both on Friday, May 23.

Four years ago the Class of 2025 began their education in a Salesian school that would foster their growth in every way. High school grade transcripts reveal only a portion of the story now held in their minds and hearts. They were guided by Jesus and Mary through the presence of Salesian educators who daily worked to build a school in which they could flourish. As Salesian alumni they now move on to future environments for community, study, prayer, and service. Let us pray they will always retain, nurture, and share the many blessings of their Salesian high school experience.

Sunday May 18: “What a beautiful afternoon for the Class of 2025’s Baccalaureate Mass! Special thanks to Ms. De La Rosa and Fr. Steve Way, along with Mr. Mata for today’s liturgy. We were extremely grateful for the presence of Ana Marie Silva, our Regional Superintendent, who spoke on behalf of the Department of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. We hope all those who attended, enjoyed celebrating the Eucharist with our graduating seniors.”

“Guide their steps, Lord, and grant them wisdom to make sound decisions. May they find joy in their chosen paths and use their talents to make a positive difference in the world. Protect them from harm and guide them to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”

Congratulations to Diego Salcedo ’25 for receiving the St. John Bosco Award, the highest honor a graduating senior can receive, at the Baccalaureate Mass and Awards.

Diego embodies everything it means to be a Bosco Brave — a compassionate man of character, grounded in faith, committed to education, and a true leader in our community. He has lived out the mission of St. John Bosco in so many ways during his time here, inspiring all of us along the way.

We’re incredibly honored to have been a part of Diego’s story, and we can’t wait to see him keep shining beyond Bosco as he continues his academic journey at MIT.
