A Historical Record for the ‘Meu Pet’ Veterinary Clinic, Partner with ‘UniSALESIANO’ University Center

(ANS – Araçatuba) – Last month, the Meu Pet veterinary clinic, a partner of the UniSALESIANO University Center, recorded a historic milestone, reaching a total of 1,849 visits and exceeding the initial target for the period by more than three times. This significant result demonstrates the growing confidence of the community in the service run by UniSALESIANO and the team’s commitment to providing quality care.

The veterinary clinic in Araçatuba, part of the São Paulo State Government’s Meu Pet program, began operations on March 9, 2023, offering free care for dogs and cats. The São Paulo State Government funded and implemented the construction of the building and the purchase of furniture and equipment for the new facility, while the Salesian University is responsible for managing the services.

Thanks to the dedication of the staff, numerous surgeries were performed—167 in total—a significant increase over the initial plan. The medical team carried out a variety of procedures, ranging from routine to more complex ones, such as orthopedic surgeries aimed at restoring mobility and improving the quality of life for the animals. The high demand also extended to laboratory and imaging tests. In July alone, 2,527 laboratory exams were conducted, far exceeding initial expectations.

Despite the intense workload, pet owner satisfaction remained high, reinforcing the clinic’s commitment to service quality. In fact, according to a satisfaction survey conducted during the month, 95 percent of clients rated the reception and professional services as “very good,” 85 percent rated the cleanliness of the rooms as “very good,” and 70 percent approved of appointment availability, while 85 percent reported no delays at the start of their appointments.

“Everyone, from the front desk to the doctors, was very kind and caring. This kind of service was really missing in our city. I’m very happy and grateful for the care I received and would recommend the clinic to anyone needing care for their pets,” said one client.

For the clinic coordinator, Tatiane da Silva Poló, the July numbers reflect the dedication of the entire team. “Our goal is always to offer compassionate and excellent service, supported by the necessary structure and technology to ensure the health and well-being of pets. These results show that we are on the right track and motivate us to keep improving our services,” she emphasized.

According to Prof. Dr. André Ornellas, UniSALESIAN Vice-Chancellor for Teaching, Research, and Graduate Studies, the clinic is a source of pride for the entire institution, as it combines hands-on training with an essential service for the community. “Seeing this growth and the satisfaction of pet owners confirms that we are fulfilling our mission of providing excellent education, research, and care,” he concluded.
