(ANS – Rome) – To tell the story of Salesian life as it unfolds on a daily basis, to present the Salesian Family’s apostolic action in a clear manner, and to involve as many new people as possible in Don Bosco’s mission: these are, in a nutshell, the aims of ANS News Video, the monthly multilingual video news bulletin which has been offered by the Salesian iNfo Agency to all the Salesian world’s sympathizers and friends for over three years.

In a media panorama increasingly dominated by the presence of digital images and videos, ANS News Video represents a small but qualified contribution to illustrate the living reality of the vast movement of people who, at all latitudes and in all contexts of the globe, are working for the integral development and salvation of the young, and in this way also seeks to offer a Salesian flavor to the magnum sea of information that circulates daily on the web.

Launched in January 2022, the column has since then sought, in each of its episodes, to present a multimedia showcase of the varied Salesian reality, illustrating in the space of about 30 minutes what was most relevant, significant and particular in the previous month in the different works and realities of the whole Congregation – and in a broader form, of the whole Salesian Family.

Starting from the official appointments of the Rector Major and the other members of the General Council, to the extreme peripheries of the mission – passing through social initiatives, oratorian events, pedagogical symposia, missionary news, program meetings… – ANS News Video has been a faithful litmus test for over 40 months now, which aims at a 360° promotion of knowledge and dissemination of Salesian activities.

With a modular structure that is now easily recognizable and appreciated by its viewers, ANS News Video is produced each month by resorting to the best digital technologies – not least, the opportunities offered by Artificial Intelligence – but above all thanks to the commitment of various people who collaborate with each other, sometimes even across great distances, but who are united by the desire to make manifest and known the mission carried out by the Spiritual Sons of Don Bosco.

It is for this reason that the current General Councillor for Social Communication, Fr Fidel Maria Orendain, also views this product with great interest and, as he said in his recent online meeting with the Delegates for Social Communication of the East Asia – Oceania Region, he encourages all Salesian communities and works, as well as oratories and  educational activities with young people to view it, in order to promote a comprehensive knowledge of the Salesian reality in the world, and also as a tool for discussion in groups, creating open forums among the viewers in the different forums to identify resonances, best practices and opportunities to be added to.

Every month ANS News Video brings the tangible reality of the Salesian mission into the homes of the Salesian Family around the world, and every Province is therefore invited to promote it, spread it and collaborate with it by reporting on its most significant events.

The latest issue of ANS News Video, covering the month of September 2025, has been available on YouTube since yesterday, in Italian, English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.
