Official Presentation of the Rector Major’s Strenna for 2026: Next Saturday, December 27, 2025

(ANS – Rome) – With the world premiere of the video and an accompanying interview with the Rector Major, next Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the Generalate of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in Rome, the official presentation of the Rector Major’s Strenna for 2026 will take place on the theme: “Do whatever he tells you. Believers, free to serve.”

Since the time of Don Bosco, the message of the Strenna has accompanied the life of Salesian communities and the Salesian Family throughout the world for the coming year, as a guideline that traces paths of education, evangelization, and development in relation to the signs of the times and the life of the Church: this is why its presentation is always “an event.”

This year the anticipation is even greater, as it is the first Strenna of the new Rector Major, Fr. Fabio Attard, elected last March by the 29th General Chapter. His first Strenna, together with his commentary and the enlightening words he will offer to all those present during the scheduled interview, will be a valuable guide for the entire Salesian Family to continue to be a vast movement of people dedicated to the salvation of young people.

Thanks to the efforts of the Social Communications Sector (SC), which oversaw the production of the video and will be handling the live webcast of next Saturday’s preview, the worldwide presentation of the Rector Major’s Strenna for 2026 will be available to everyone on YouTube starting at 5:00 p.m. (UTC+1).

“We encourage Salesian communities, where possible, to organize a local meeting to participate together in this event,” suggests the General Councillor for Social Communication, Fr. Fidel Maria Orendain.

Finally, thanks to the efforts of the Social Communications Sector, a booklet on the Rector Major’s Strenna will be available in print and digital PDF format from Saturday 27th. It will contain Fr. Attard’s message and, at the end, a series of suggestions for putting it into practice at the pastoral level. The booklet will be available in Italian, English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
