RMG, Rome – 24 December 2025 – On the occasion of Christmas, the Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco addressed a simple and heartfelt message to Salesians and members of the Salesian Family, inviting them to contemplate the mystery of the birth of the Son of God. In his message, the Rector Major recalled that the birth of Jesus took place in a context of poverty, open and accessible to all, without conditions. This reality, he noted, echoes the experience and mission of Don Bosco, who welcomed the cries of the young, went out to meet them where they were, and walked with them in order to offer real opportunities for a better future. The Rector Major emphasized that the love of God revealed at Christmas is not only a gift to be received, but to be shared with responsibility. As heirs of the Salesian charism, Salesians and members of the Salesian Family are invited to listen attentively to the cries of young people and to respond to the growing forms of poverty affecting today’s world.
