Br. Karol Stefan Domagała, SDB: The First Brother Appointed Rector in the PLE Province

(ANS – Rome) – The global effort to embrace the new opportunities approved by the 29th General Chapter of the Salesian Congregation continues. In recent days, it has been announced that among the decisions made by the Rector Major, Fr. Fabio Attard, with the consent of the General Council during its most recent plenary session, is the appointment of the first Salesian Brother as Rector of the Salesian St. Stanislaus Kostka Province of Warsaw (PLE) in Poland.

Each year, personnel changes take place in Salesian works: superiors whose terms are ending are replaced, followed by other assignments as needed for pastoral reasons. This year’s changes include a historic milestone—for the first time in the Warsaw Province, a Salesian Brother has been appointed Rector. We take this opportunity to briefly introduce Br. Karol Stefan Domagała.

Br. Domagała is a Salesian, psychologist, and psychotherapist. Born in Łódź on May 21, 1979, he made his first religious profession in Czerwińsk nad Wisłą on August 22, 2004. Nearly his entire religious life has been dedicated to working with young people at risk of social exclusion at the Salesian Educational Center and the Sociotherapy Center in Różanystok.

He also directs a Crisis Intervention Center, offers individual and couples psychotherapy, and leads workshops and lectures for parents, teachers, educators, and psychologists on working with young people. He is the author of the book “Nastolatkowie – Jak wychować i nie zwariować” (Adolescents – How to Raise Them Without Going Mad).

Beginning on September 1, 2026, he will assume the role of Rector of the religious community dedicated to the Five Blessed Young Martyrs of Poznań in Różanystok, where the two centers mentioned above are located.

“Congratulations and best wishes for abundant divine graces, with the protection of John Bosco throughout your term of office,” his confreres—priests and brothers of the PLE Province—expressed in their message to him.
