The “Pedro Justo Berrío” Institute Receives Medellín’s Highest Honor in Its Centennial Year

(ANS – Medellín) – In a moving recognition of its institutional journey and as a tribute to its invaluable contribution to education and social transformation in the region, the Salesian Institute “Pedro Justo Berrío” (PJB) of Medellín received the Order of Merit “Don Juan del Corral,” Gold Grade, on Thursday, April 23, 2026.

A Prestigious Award in a Historic Moment

The award, the highest honor granted by the Medellín City Council, was presented by Councilor Santiago Perdomo Montoya during a solemn session held in the Council chambers. This recognition comes at a historic time for the Salesian institute, which is celebrating its first 100 years of activity. As it begins its second century, PJB continues to strengthen its role as a benchmark of academic excellence, Christian and technical formation, and environmental commitment in Medellín and throughout the Department of Antioquia.

A Community Celebration

The ceremony was attended by a representative delegation of the Salesian community, led by the institute’s leadership and School Government. They were joined by administrative staff, families of students, and teachers who have dedicated much of their lives to educating young people in the spirit of Don Bosco.
