Salesian Cooperators Gather in San Francisco for Retreat and Renewal

(San Francisco, California) – On May 9, 2026, Salesian Cooperators from Watsonville, Richmond, Sts. Peter & Paul Parish, and Corpus Christi gathered in San Francisco for a special retreat celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Salesian Cooperators, founded on May 9, 1876.

The retreat offered participants an opportunity to renew their promises together through prayer, reflection, storytelling, and fellowship. Centered on the spirit of Don Bosco, the gathering encouraged attendees to reflect on the needs and experiences of young people throughout the Salesian Western Province and the continuing mission of the Salesian Cooperator vocation.

Throughout the day, participants focused on the call to accompany young people with presence, joy, and faithful witness, remaining committed to the Salesian charism in today’s world.

The gathering also served as a moment of gratitude for the dedication and service of Salesian Cooperators, whose mission continues to support and guide young people in communities across the province.

The retreat concluded with the inspiring words from the Gospel of Luke:
“Were not our hearts burning within us?” (Luke 24:32).
