(ANS – Rome) – Recognizing the growing importance of mental health in volunteer service, an online formation program on psychological care and mental well-being is being offered within the framework of Salesian Missionary Volunteering (SMV).
This initiative is the result of collaboration between the Youth Ministry Sector and the Missions Sector, reflecting a shared commitment to the holistic care of young volunteers.
The formation program is intended for directors of SMV programs, who play a key role in accompanying and safeguarding volunteers throughout their missionary experience, but it is also open to anyone involved in or interested in the subject.
Participants will hear from Antonella Sinagoga, psychologist and member of the Congregational Youth Ministry Sector, who will offer practical insights into the psychological challenges faced during missionary service and ways to foster resilience and healthy relationships.
The sessions will also provide space for sharing experiences and mutual learning among participants.
Two Sessions Available
- May 18, 10:00–11:30 a.m. (Italy time) – in English
- May 19, 6:00–7:30 p.m. (Italy time) – in Spanish
Directors are encouraged to participate, recognizing that caring for mental well-being is essential for sustainable and meaningful volunteer service.
