(Los Angeles, California) – On Saturday, May 30, The Mission Center successfully hosted its Burrito Project while also organizing a free community rummage sale for local underserved community members to select clothing for themselves and their families.

Approximately 40 people attended the rummage sale, and all remaining items were taken that same day to Skid Row for individuals experiencing homelessness.

We also welcomed a strong turnout of volunteers from various age groups and organizations, including ADMA-Y from St. Dominic Savio Parish and several Salesian Cooperators from St. Mary’s Parish in Boyle Heights. The group enjoyed fellowship while preparing more than 300 burritos, which were distributed to unhoused individuals in Boyle Heights and Skid Row in Downtown Los Angeles.

We are excited to announce a new initiative: preparing sandwiches on one Tuesday each month to support our friends and the Humanity Heroes on Skid Row as they help provide meals to those in need.
