(ANS – Santiago) – Under the slogan, “Your contribution will bring hope!”, the Salesian Province of St. Gabriel the Archangel, based in Santiago, Chile, has launched the national fundraising campaign “Salesians with Venezuela” to support families affected by the recent twin earthquakes that devastated parts of Venezuela.
The campaign is an urgent response to the humanitarian crisis and seeks to unite the generosity of Salesian communities, parishes, and schools throughout Chile in providing practical assistance to those most affected.
According to the relief plan developed by the St. Luke Province in Venezuela, the funds raised will be used to provide food packages to 10 Salesian communities and emergency financial assistance to 200 Salesian employees directly impacted by the disaster.
In a letter to the Salesian Family in Chile, Provincial Fr. Nelson Moreno, SDB, appealed for solidarity.
“As Chileans, we know all too well—through both our experience and our memories—the pain, fear, and silence that follow a devastating earthquake. Today, after the tragic twin earthquakes that have struck Venezuela so severely, it is our turn to extend a helping hand.”
The campaign is being coordinated by the Provincial Office for Development and Planning, which will oversee the collection and transfer of donations directly to the Salesian Province in Venezuela while ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the process.
To provide immediate support, the initiative will focus exclusively on monetary donations. Contributions are being accepted from July 8 through August 7, 2026.
A video message from Fr. Moreno is available through Salesianos Chile.
