(ANS – Rome) – The new website of the Don Bosco Library at the Pontifical Salesian University (UPS) has been launched and is now available at biblioteca.unisal.it. Developed with the support of the UPS Office of Communications and Development, the new portal is designed to provide students, faculty, researchers, and scholars with a modern, intuitive, and user-friendly platform for exploring and accessing the Library’s services, while also promoting its cultural and scholarly heritage.

The Don Bosco Library is one of the leading specialized bibliographic centers in the fields of theology, philosophy, education, psychology, communication, Salesian studies, and socioeconomic studies. Its collection includes more than 600,000 bibliographic items, approximately 6,000 periodicals, and numerous collections of significant historical and documentary value. Among these is the Marega Collection, an invaluable archive of documents related to the history, culture, and religious life of Japan, which has been fully digitized through a collaboration with Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto.

The new website provides quick and easy access to information about library services, hours of operation, reference and borrowing procedures, digital resources, and the Library’s primary search tools. The homepage also offers direct access to the Unisal Catalog and Unisal Discovery, enabling integrated searches of both print and digital resources, as well as remote access services and procedures for requesting materials.

The portal also serves as a hub for promoting the Library’s cultural initiatives, including exhibitions, conferences, book presentations, and academic events, helping to strengthen dialogue between the academic community and the broader research world.

The launch of the new website marks another step forward in the Pontifical Salesian University’s ongoing efforts to enhance its services and reaffirms the Don Bosco Library’s commitment to placing knowledge at the service of research, education, and cultural development by combining the richness of its library tradition with the opportunities offered by digital technologies.
