(ANS – Seville) – 2006–2026: Twenty years of helping young people discover that holiness is possible. “Do you want to be a saint?” It is a simple question, but one capable of changing a life.

Twenty years ago, in 2006, a humble digital evangelization initiative was born in Seville around this very question. Fr. Sergio Codera, SDB, then a young Salesian studying theology, presented the project that would become QuieroSerSanto.com, with the desire to help young people discover that holiness is within everyone’s reach and that God calls each person to it. The project was approved and supported by the Salesian Province of Mary Help of Christians in Seville.

Thus began a Salesian-style online space created to bring young people closer to Jesus, help them discover the lives of the saints, and offer resources for living and sharing their faith. Over the years, Fr. Sergio Codera, SDB, as director and webmaster, continued to develop this digital mission, seeking new ways of communicating the call to holiness to young people.

In 2026, QuieroSerSanto.com celebrates its 20th anniversary. But this anniversary is not simply an opportunity to look back with gratitude. It is also a new beginning. On August 16, 2026, Don Bosco’s birthday, the renewed and expanded website will be officially relaunched with new content and resources.

The date beautifully expresses its spirit. Don Bosco understood that to accompany young people, it was necessary to be where they were: in the streets, workshops, schools, and playgrounds. Today, one of those places is also the digital world.

The playground has changed, but the mission remains the same.

A Website with a Salesian Heart

For twenty years, QuieroSerSanto.com has sought to communicate one fundamental conviction: holiness is not reserved for a chosen few; it is also possible for young people and can be lived with joy in everyday life.

St. Dominic Savio expressed this in a profoundly Salesian way: “We make holiness consist in being very cheerful.”

For this reason, the new phase of the website aims to be more than simply a webpage containing religious material. It seeks to become a digital space for education in faith and evangelization.

The renewed website will offer a digital library, materials for educators, catechists, and youth ministers, the Virtue of the Month, new content about young saints, and a special section dedicated to St. Dominic Savio. It will also include resources on the Bible, the traditional Salesian Good Nights, music, games, images, activities, and other creative materials for children and young people.

All of this has one purpose: to help young people discover that holiness is possible.

A Mission for the Digital Playground

Since Fr. Sergio Codera, SDB, helped launch this adventure in 2006, the digital world has changed enormously. Social networks have transformed communication, smartphones have changed everyday life, and, more recently, artificial intelligence has opened new possibilities and challenges. Yet one thing has not changed: the hearts of young people still thirst for meaning, friendship, belonging, hope, and God.

For this reason, evangelizing in the digital world cannot simply mean publishing religious content. It means being present, listening, accompanying, engaging in dialogue, and bearing witness.

This is a profoundly Salesian challenge. Don Bosco did not simply create institutions for young people; he created environments where they could feel at home, find friends, discover their dignity, encounter Jesus, and realize that they, too, were called to holiness.

Today, the original intuition behind QuieroSerSanto.com continues with renewed energy: to bring the Salesian spirit into the digital playground.

Twenty Years, the Same Dream

The 20th anniversary of QuieroSerSanto.com is therefore both a celebration and a renewed missionary call. What began through the vision and initiative of Fr. Sergio Codera, SDB, has become a 20-year journey of digital evangelization that now looks toward the future with fresh creativity and missionary enthusiasm.

Twenty years. One story. Thousands of people. One dream: that many young people may encounter Jesus, discover the saints as companions on their journey, and dare to respond personally to the question that began this adventure: DO I WANT TO BE A SAINT?

On August 16, 2026, QuieroSerSanto.com begins a new chapter, with the same Salesian heart and a conviction that remains as alive as ever: Holiness is possible—even for the young people of today.
