(ANS – Nave) – A home where consecrated persons and laypeople can share their lives, prayer, and educational mission while reaching out to the local community and responding to its needs. This is the heart of “Casa Nave,” the new project of the Salesian House in Nave (Brescia), which will open on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., with a Eucharistic celebration in the Chapel of Mary Help of Christians, presided over by Bishop Pierantonio Tremolada, Bishop of Brescia, in the presence of the Rector Major of the Salesians, Fr. Fabio Attard.

“Casa Nave” aims to be a tangible experience of communion and fraternity, inspired by the origins of the Salesian charism and the conviction that the educational mission can be lived out through collaboration and sharing among people with different vocations.

One Home, Three Vocations

The “Casa Nave” project draws on the origins of the Salesian experience by bringing together three distinct yet integrated communities:

• The Community of the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB);
• The Community of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA);
• A family comprising a father, a mother, and two daughters.

Each group will retain its own autonomy while sharing moments of prayer, fellowship, and service.

The management of the House also reflects this synodal approach. Leadership is entrusted to a House Council comprising the superiors of the two religious communities and the resident family.

“The House aims to be a place of fellowship, listening, and simplicity,” explains the Rector, Fr. Erino Andrea Leoni. “A space where young people, families, laypeople, and consecrated persons can come together, share their lives, pray, and grow in faith. Not merely hospitality, but a community that lives alongside people.”

The Four Dimensions of the Project

The project is structured around the four dimensions that characterize the Salesian educational tradition: a home that welcomes, through spaces open to sharing and listening; a church that evangelizes, with journeys of faith and discernment for daily life; a school that prepares for life, through holistic formation and support for young people in difficulty; and a playground for gathering, as a special place for play, socializing, and building relationships.

The center is already up and running, offering educational programs for schools, groups, and families, as well as an after-school program for young people in the local area. The premises have been refurbished to meet these new needs, thanks to the generosity of benefactors.

The opening on August 30 will thus mark not only the official opening of a new facility, but also the launch of an initiative that aims to translate one of the central insights of Don Bosco’s charism into a concrete form of shared life: making the community a home capable of welcoming, educating, evangelizing, and supporting others by bringing together different vocations and skills in the service of young people and families.
