Dear Salesian Family,

Last night, we received the news from Ernie Rodriguez, Coordinator of the St. Michael the Archangel Local Center in Colorado Springs, of the passing of Katherine Cristelli. Below is some information about Katherine, provided by Kristie Martinez.

Remembering Katherine Cristelli

Our dear friend and Salesian Cooperator, Katherine Cristelli, entered eternal life on the morning of September 17, 2026.

Katherine worked alongside the Salesian Sisters in Colorado Springs in the shared mission for young people, accompanying them through Vacation Bible School (VBS) summer programs, young adult gatherings, parish ministries, and feast day celebrations.

She made her long-awaited promise as a Salesian Cooperator on April 2, 2022, with the hope of one day establishing the first local center in the state of Colorado. Katherine was a member of the St. John Bosco Local Center for three years. In May 2025, the St. Michael the Archangel Local Center in Colorado Springs was officially established.

Katherine was a gentle and loving presence, hopeful in the Lord and an example of His love for others.

Her funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Parish in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on September 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
