(Stockton, California) – On Tuesday, September 15, the St. Luke Parish community in Stockton, California, joyfully gathered to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with its young people.

The parish was blessed to welcome Bishop Myron Cotta, who presided at the Confirmation Mass and shared this important moment of faith with the parish community. Through the celebration of the sacrament, the young people were strengthened in their commitment to Christ and called to live their faith with greater courage and purpose.

As Jesus told his disciples, “As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit” (John 20:21–22). Through Confirmation, our young people are reminded that receiving the Holy Spirit is not only a gift but also a call—to go forth with courage, share God’s love, and serve others.

The gift of the Holy Spirit received in Confirmation is an invitation to continue growing in faith and to courageously live as witnesses of Christ in the world.
