(Bellflower, California) – Originally from Garden Grove, California, Daniel Tran worked as an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher for adults before entering Salesian formation. He is currently in his second year of formation as a prenovice.

Drawn to the Salesians’ mission of serving young people and their strong sense of community, Daniel was especially encouraged by the down-to-earth nature of the Salesians he encountered. He found a welcoming community where he could be himself while being challenged to grow and continue discerning God’s call.

For Daniel, Salesian life means recognizing God’s presence in everyday encounters, especially among young people, and becoming an instrument of God’s love for others. To those considering a Salesian vocation, he offers this encouragement: “Give God and yourself a chance by at least reaching out and discovering what the Salesians are all about!”

Please keep Daniel and all our men in formation in your prayers as they continue discerning God’s call and preparing to serve young people in the spirit of Don Bosco.

Thank you for all you do!
