Happy International Women’s Day 2025

By Bro. Al Vu, SDB

(Rosemead, California) – As we celebrate International Women’s Day this weekend, we want to take a moment to honor the incredible women who serve in our Salesian schools—whether as administrators, teachers, staff, or coaches. Your dedication, wisdom, and hard work in carrying out Don Bosco’s mission inspire not just the students in our schools but all of us who have the privilege of being your colleagues.

As Salesian educators, we are called to help young women embrace their worth, strength, and leadership. Your presence and example give them the confidence to trust in their God-given gifts and the courage to create a more just and hopeful world. You are role models who guide, challenge, and empower our young women to grow in faith, knowledge, and service of others, especially those on the margins and the most vulnerable.

At the same time, we recognize the important role of educating our young men to be men of integrity—respectful, compassionate, and committed to standing alongside their sisters to build a world that reflects the values of the Gospel: justice, kindness, and a deep sense of solidarity with all.

On behalf of our Salesian Network of Schools, we express our deep gratitude and celebrate you—the women of our Salesian family—who faithfully share in our Salesian mission of hope, guiding and shaping the next generation of leaders. May Mary, Our Help, bless you abundantly in your vocation as Salesian educators and mentors.
