(ANS – Santiago) – The network of Salesian schools in Chile has received news that fills the Chile Province and the entire Congregación Salesiana with pride: 12 Salesian schools have been selected to receive the “Excellence Performance Grant” awarded by the National System for Performance Evaluation (SNED) for the 2026–2027 period. This recognition from the Chilean Ministry of Education confirms the commitment of educational and pastoral communities to pedagogical quality, continuous improvement, and the holistic formation of their students across the country.
The Salesian Network’s Roll of Honor
Of the 12 schools recognized, 10 received 100% of the grant, placing them in the highest performance band at the national level:

Salesian Industrial School (Copiapó)
Salesian Agricultural School Foundation Huidobro (Catemu)
Salesianos Alameda Educational Center (Santiago)
Salesianos Talca Educational Center
Salesian Agricultural School (Linares)
Salesian School of Concepción
Monsignor Fagnano Comprehensive High School (Puerto Natales)

Patrocinio de San José (Santiago)
The Don Bosco Technical Industrial College (Antofagasta) and the Camilo Ortúzar Montt (COM) Salesian High School were awarded 60% excellence.
What Is SNED and What Does It Evaluate?
The National System for Performance Evaluation (SNED) was established in 1995 with the aim of promoting improvements in the quality of state-subsidized education in Chile. SNED assesses six key factors:
- Effectiveness: Results achieved in the SIMCE national assessments.
- Improvement: Positive progress in performance over time.
- Initiative: The school’s ability to develop innovative projects.
- Working Conditions: Evaluation of the working environment for staff.
- Equal Opportunities: Access to and retention of vulnerable students.
- Integration: Participation of the entire educational community.
This recognition includes a direct financial benefit known as the “Excellence Performance Subsidy.” The incentive is awarded every two years and is allocated to teachers and teaching assistants in the selected schools, acknowledging the role each professional plays in the success of the educational project.
A Mark of Salesian Quality
For the Salesian Schools Network of Chile, this achievement reflects the enduring relevance of Don Bosco’s Preventive System. The recognition of academic excellence by nearly 55% of Salesian schools demonstrates that academic rigor can be successfully combined with a welcoming, family-oriented environment.
The recognition is a tribute to the perseverance of school leaders, teachers, and support staff, as well as to the commitment of families who entrust Salesian pedagogy with the formation of tomorrow’s “good Christians and honest citizens.”
