It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain (John 15:16).
I believe that God has called me and continues to call me to be of service. First and foremost, it is a call to serve God’s people, the Church, especially the young. I learned early on through my family, especially my parents, that in serving others with humility, you will discover God. I am grateful to my parents, family, and friends that God has placed in my life who continue to be examples of this kind of humble and sincere service. Through God’s grace and mercy, I pray that my life as a Salesian priest, in my words and actions, will always be a sign of God’s abundant love. Over the years living in Salesian religious community, I have had the great fortune to share life with many holy Salesians brothers and priests who witness this love that was so evident in the life of St. John Bosco. I also believe that God awaits me in the lives of the young. Their happiness, enthusiasm, joyful spirit, and even their struggles motivate me each day to accompany them to encounter Christ. Like Don Bosco, I promise to be a Salesian priest for them and each day I take on his words: “for you I study, for you I work, for you I am ready to lay down my life.”
