On January 29th, our Salesian Family Youth Center and St. Mary’s church joined the celebrations of Saint John Bosco, the father, and teacher of youth, founder of the Society of Saint Francis de Sales, better known as “Salesians.”
During the event we had a Don Bosco Movie Drive-In with an Ice cream truck and featured the Don Bosco movie by Ben Gazzara. On Saturday, we had Drive-Thru Toy Giveaway from 1 pm to 4 pm. On Sunday, the great day, we had at 10 am an animated mass with a Magician, our 11:30 am mass was presided by our Provincial Fr. Mel Trinidad, SDB and animated musically by the beautiful choir of the candidates and Daughters of Mary Help of Christians from the Community of St. Dominic Savio in Bellflower. We ended the festivities with a Verbena where we ate delicious tamales and thanked God for the gifts he gave us in the Salesian charism through Don Bosco.
