(Rosemead, California) – Don Bosco Technical Institute (Bosco Tech) will host its annual College Fair on Thursday, October 8, welcoming students, families, and members of the surrounding community for an evening that brings together higher education, fellowship, and Salesian hospitality.
The fair, which will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., will feature representatives from more than 50 colleges and universities, with additional institutions continuing to register. Among those expected to attend are UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, UC Davis, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State LA, Chapman University, Loyola Marymount University, Pomona College, University of San Francisco, Arizona State University, Boston University, Gonzaga University, Syracuse University, University of Chicago, and many others. Community colleges, trade schools, and military and service academies will also be represented.
The evening will offer more than opportunities to explore college options. A variety of food trucks, snacks, and treats will be available for purchase, including Cafe 86, 8E8 Thai, Easy Street Pizza, and goodies provided by the school’s sports boosters. Food trucks will be available beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Open to the entire surrounding community, the College Fair is intended to be a resource for families throughout the area—not only for Bosco Tech students. The event provides an opportunity for young people to explore their academic futures while families enjoy an evening of food and fellowship.
The Salesian presence will also be an important part of the evening. Salesian brothers and novices will attend the fair, offering students interested in a vocation to religious life an opportunity to learn more about the Salesian order and the possibility of joining the Salesian mission.
In many ways, the event reflects the spirit of the Salesian Oratory, where education and evangelization are accompanied by friendship, joy, community, and family. By bringing together students, parents, educators, college representatives, and members of the Salesian community, the College Fair creates a welcoming environment where young people can explore their future while experiencing the joy of being part of a community.
