Dear Salesian Brothers,
Our beloved God has given us a new year and a new opportunity to celebrate with joy and exultation, the feast of our founding father, St. John Bosco, and the great work and legacy entrusted to us through him: the salvation of the most abandoned and endangered youth.
Inspired by the actions and words of Don Bosco, faithful follower of the Lord Jesus, each one of us gives the best of ourselves to so many people, who with a unique and particular style of service and encounter, work together, and enjoy all the benefits of this beautiful Salesian charism.
Dear brothers, your work and daily effort always bring beautiful fruits and great blessings for all. Doing everything out of love and nothing out of obligation, as the theme of the Strenna for 2022 does remind, call, and summon to refresh our commitment.
I say this with special joy and with your joyful, charitable, and selfless witness, we can count on the help of new and young faces who want to know in-depth and bear witness to our charism.
Year after year, it has been a tradition in our Province to announce to all the members of the Salesian family the names of the new participants of the Spirit Team that will work with us in the preparation and achievement of our SYLC conference.
I would like to give a huge welcome to the Spirit Team for 2022:
Gabriel Calderon (Bishop Mora Salesian High School)
Lorenzo Benitez (Don Bosco Technical Institute)
Claire Burke (St. Francis High School)
Christian Angel (St. John Bosco High School)
Abdiana Marines (San Luis Rey Parish)
Alejandra Alvarez (San Luis Rey Parish)
Shermally Naldoza (Salesian High Richmond)
Alizia Dela Cruz (Salesian High Richmond)
These young people have decided to put their desire to serve into concrete action and have been chosen by the
Administrative Team for SYLC 2022.
Thank you to the Salesians and lay partners in mission who have accompanied them with their witness. We entrust ourselves to your prayers and good wishes so that in the two preparation retreats that will be held in the month of February and April, we can build bonds of familiarity in the spirit of our charism. We hope to have an experience of SYLC that positively affects and renews each of our works, our lives, and the lives of many
other young people.
In Don Bosco,

Fr. Fabian Alberto Cardenas Chinchilla SDB.
